The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at Fairford was the scene for the launch of the new ground-breaking Corgi Precision Replicas on Saturday 14th July.
Corgi was pleased to invite the Bader Foundation to the event to open the Corgi marquee. Unfortunately Lady Bader was unable to attend, however Keith Delderfield (Director of Operations for the Foundation) was present to launch this exquisite range of large scale Spitfire Replicas. The weekend proved a huge success, with intense interest being shown in the new Precision Replicas by all who attended the Corgi marquee.
As part of the launch, Corgi is to donate the very first pre-production sample of the Brian Lane 1:16th scale Spitfire Mk IA to the Bader Foundation. This will be auctioned to raise money for their cause. The Bader Foundation was set up in 1982 and the mission of the foundation is to continue Douglas Bader’s work in conjunction with and on behalf of individuals with a disability.

Continuing on from the events at IWM Duxford, the Precision Replicas exhibition travelled to the International Air Fair at Biggin Hill. Corgi sponsored the Meet the Pilots tent positioned in front of the commentary box. The weather was excellent and the attendance over the two days was in the region of 80,000. Corgi, working in association with the Historic Aircraft Collection showcased the new Spitfire range in addition to new samples for the 2007 Aviation Archive range.
The Precision Replicas caught the attention of everyone who visited the stand including the pilots who flew on the day! Images of the day can be viewed below
